Am I the only one who finds this entire debate a nonsensical distraction? A way to keep the masses entertained with bread and circuses?
Well, it could be one of these famous “teachable moments,” in which the American public learns that having a fiat currency means that our money is backed by nothing other than the full faith and credit of the United States of America, and that yes, they CAN just print money, because that’s what they do.
