If your goal is to either privatize the Social Sercurity system (forcing everybody into the 1%’s stock market) or to do away with it altogether than it makes perfect sense to push for the eligibility age be raised to 70. Then to 80. Then to 90. Eventually everybody will be dead before they are allowed to collect any Social Security payments. Anybody who is or who listens to any Republican about anything is flat out nutz. And shouldn’t be allowed to own a firearm.

    “Work Until You Drop”

That’s kind of like “Arbeit Macht Frei” with a Smiley Face.

Since life expectancies are steadily rising, it just makes sense for the SS eligibility age to rise in parallel. My suggestion is that this threshold be raised to 95% of life expectancy measured at age 60.

Of course, there should be a few reasonable exceptions, such as for politicos, and for cops and firemen who can retire at age
40 or 45 at 80% of their highest salary.

Ezra? Ezra Klein? The stars are shifting in the firmament. Anyone seen any flying pigs? Does Ezra say anything without calculating whether the White House will be offended?

    This time I hope not.

Very nicely said, Ezra. Spoken like a(n armchair) class warrior.
