Time and a half

Eric Cantor wants to repeal the federal law that mandates overtime, and replace it with comp time. Because, you know, no one’s ever gotten punished for using their comp time in an environment where staffing is cut to the bone. Uh huh. Oh, and the employer gets to put strict constraints on how it’s used, so you basically work for free.

But then again, Eric Cantor doesn’t work for a living. How would he know?

And just when you think the assholery can’t get any more punitive, this from a HARP disclosure, “If the new loan is secured by your pricipal dwelling and the extension of credit exceeds the fair market value of the dwelling, the interest portion of the credit extension that is greater than the [FMV] is not deductible for federal income tax purposes.” The great collapse put your existing mortgage under water, let’s keep you there.
