Expect increasingly violent cyclones, weather experts warn

The reporter is full of shit, because of course there are scientists who directly link global warming to these increasingly frequent extreme storms. But that’s how successfully the plutocrats have backed off the media from doing their jobs:

Expect increasingly violent cyclones, weather experts warn (via AFP)

Meteorologists have yet to formally link global warming to typhoons like the one that devastated the Philippines, but they expect increasingly extreme weather phenomena due to a rise in ocean temperatures. The trail of death and destruction left in…

  1. Does anyone actually believe that giant, multi-national oil companies who make billions in profits each month by selling us oil to burn are going to fess up to the fact that they’re destroying the planet? By the way how is the LAX shooter, CIA n CIA, doing? Will the CIA allow us to talk to him anytime soon? Or will he be declared insane and locked away in a supermax prison forever like the UnaBomber Ted Kaczynski was? It might be nice to ask these guys what motivated them. Kaczynski has been labeled a neo-Luddite. Is that how he sees himself? And why did he go to Afghanistan in 1982? Did his stay in Afghanistan have anything to do with his 17 yearlong bombing campaign? The 1% wants profits. It does not want the truth. Especially when it comes to how global warming happens.

  2. Note the timeline on this topic as developed by the American Institute of Physics.

    http://www.aip.org/history/climate/timeline.htm

Note that one of the major classic chemists of history, Arrhenius, when considering in 1896 the emissions given off by the fossil fuels used and the manufacturing processes employed which comprised the Industrial Revolution, performed the first calculations showing that increased CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere could also lead to rising temperatures on Earth.

Per the timeline, the only real pause in the growing realization that increased CO2 and rising temperatures were linked came in the 1970s when scientists considered whether aerosols, used more frequently in the 1960s and 1970s, might tend to act like the sulfur dioxide and sulfate emissions from volcanoes which tend to block out sunlight and result in cooling. Scientists also wondered if excessive particulate pollutants might also act the same way.

But as the timeline notes, by the 1980s these side issues were resolved among any scientists who were not whoring for the fossil fuels industries.

Note the appearance in the late 1980s, the 1990s, of the lobbying efforts of the fossil fuel industries to introduce confusion into the discussions, so as to head off corrective actions.

The facts of the matter is that the oceans are warmer than they have been in eons, there is more water vapor in the atmosphere than there has been in eons of time – therefore there is more energy in the system due to CO2 absorbing and retaining more heat from the sun. Therefore storms are more powerful than they have been in eons of time.

Unless we make significant changes for the good of all, Mother Nature is prepared to kick our asses up one side and down the other, until the excess contributions we have been making into the ecosystem are neutralized. This will occur largely through our disappearance from the scene.

    Period.
