It’s always something

Ever since covid, I’ve had all kinds of weird symptoms, especially with my heart. Well, yesterday I was in the hospital for an endoscopy — and my heart stopped. It didn’t sound like a big deal when the anesthesiologist told me about (I was still kind of loopy from the drugs), but an hour or so later, I looked it up: happens 1-5 patients per 10,000.

When the surgeon walked by, I grabbed him. “Tell me about this,” I told him.

He said it was only for a few seconds, he suspects it was a parasympathetic response to the procedure, but it’s not normal. They gave me a printout of the EKG to show my cardiologist and suggested further testing.

I blame Trump, or covid. Same thing!

  1. I have a friend who lives in Berkeley who is a working artist. He’s had long covid for years now and is basically disabled. Takes a half hour to recover from a trip to the store.
This is a guy I worked on construction jobs with, so the difference is profound.
He can’t seem to find any medical help in Berkeley, or the Bay Area. We looked up a bunch of stuff online, but we’re a long way away and he needs help getting to any resource we find for him, and now those resources seem to be disappearing.
