Let’s not be hypocrits here. The ties to the miltias would be a big deal. The arrests are not so much. This is after all what OWS does. Probably the most liberal Senator from the State of Minnesota was arrested a number of times trying to stop Sheriffs from conducting farm foreclosures. Paul Wellstone made no apologies for those arrests and was elected anyways. At many of those protests members of the violent Posse Comitatus were seen hanging around the periphery. Guilt by association is a dangerously slippery slope. OWS is not an anarchist movement. But their protests are not infrequently appropriated by anarchists.
