And yet, when it’s a Democrat who supports abortion rights, they forbid them from speaking. Interesting, yes?
BALTIMORE (AP) - Cardinal William Keeler will not attend a Jesuit university commencement because keynote speaker Rudolph Giuliani, a Catholic, supports abortion rights, an official said Wednesday.Giuliani, the Republican former New York City mayor mentioned as a possible candidate for president in 2008, is expected to award some 1,600 degrees and certificates at Friday’s commencement at Loyola College of Maryland.
He also is to receive an honorary degree.
The amazing thing to me is the number of Catholics I know who obey their church’s partisan directive.
Gee, and you’d think the priests’ panties would be in a twist because Rudy’s already on his third wife!!
Guess they’re looking to create more potential priests.
Umm, what democrat who was “forbidden” are you talking about? The only other name than Guliani’s I see in the article is Sherwood Boehlert who 1)is a Republican and 2)was not forbidden to come, but decided not to after the controversy.
