Fair and Balanced

Live on C-SPAN now… Looks like they got about 200 people to turn out for the Pro-War Rally Rally to Honor Military Families - you know, the one that was supposed to be the counterpart to yesterday’s anti-war rally? The voice of “real” Americans?
Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama (aka Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III) referred to “those people don’t represent the majority of Americans” and called us the “blame America first” crowd.
Deborah Johns of the “Cindy Sheehan Doesn’t Speak for Me” tour said she wanted to shake President Bush’s hand to thank him for doing a good job and for being a Godly man, and then she wanted to tell him to put the people from yesterday’s rally on the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan and ship them to Iraq Iran. The small crowd of Freepers applauded and whooped.
She misquoted Cindy, repeating the lie that she said “America wasn’t worth dying for” (she said Iraq wasn’t worth dying over). She then accused her of encouraging terrorists and being responsible for the deaths of soldiers in Iraq, and said Cindy was too busy traveling around the country “spewing hate” to put a headstone on her son’s grave.
What a piece of work. What an ignorant woman.
Johns then blamed Bush’s low poll numbers on the media, who don’t report the “good news.” “How come?” she demanded. “They’re responsible as well as Cindy Sheehan for their focus on the negative.”
Imagine. A country without electricity or clean water, women under theocratic bullies and a civil war - and she’s mad because the press won’t cooperate with her justification fantasy.

I’ve got some screen grabs on my blog. That Deborah Johns bit was especially hateful.
haha johns wants to send us to iraq, not the war supporters. has she never heard of irony? soooo ignorant.
the march was awesome. i’m so glad i went.
Yeah, the cabbie’s didn’t even know there was a protest going on. But I had him drive us by anyway.
Frankly there were almost as many people at Cindy Sheehan’s tent this morning as I saw at the pro war rally. There’s a prayer service tonight at “camp casey” that will have a higher turnout than the pro-war rally.
Someone should tell the insurgents that Cindy Sheehan is their best weapon for killing American soldiers, instead of the guns and bombs they’re currently using.
Paging Joe McCarthy….
Man, this is getting to be like a blast from the past. Pat Boone condemning the long hairs, hippies, and communists, people using that old chestnut “cut and run” and this moning I saw a guy at this demonstration saying that the “silent majority” would be silent no more.
Next up, “Democrats for Nixon”?
Of course she wants to send anti-war people to Iraq — she and her buddies certainly don’t want to go themselves.
I noticed that the CNN coverage had a guy holding a pre-printed “Freedom is not Free” sign:

Yeah, apparantly it’s
worth about $600.
Note also that the t-shirt says “Bulldogs”. I guess the Jim/Jeff brigade was out in force.
