Wait. For. It. NASA animation shows Global temps warm slowly at first, then rapidly. Warming is accelerating! Here’s the truth. It’s real. It’s us. And we have to come to terms with it, and deal with reality, rather than deceiving ourselves, and hoping it goes away. It won’t… without intervention.

It’s always vital not to be alarmist, or scary, or hopeless, etc etc etc. So we always have to say ‘we can still do something.’
Well, yes, we can. Devote 3% of global GDP, more in richer countries, to getting off fossil fuels _completely_. Now.
On our current trajectory? Dabbling around the edges? About 5 to 6 billion — billion with a B — people will probably die. Billions will migrate and cause those upheavals. Wars and famines will push it all.
That’s the current future. Because 3% of GDP is too much.
