I didn’t much like Kerry, but this v-vet was pissed when they swift-boated him. I don’t necessarily like Murtha, but I’m pissed. I think I’ll go look for a fight tonight, Saturday Night’s All Right For Fightin’, it’s been a long time, and I think kicking some rightwing fucktard’s head in tonight is the only way I can get past it.

I think it’s funny that people can be made to believe that a purple heart is “earned”, and that there are “undeserved” purple hearts.
A purple heart is not a compensation for being wounded, it simply shows the soldier was wounded in a combat situation, nothing more, nothing less.
It doesn’t matter if the wound was a scratch or life-threatening. The difference is miniscule, maybe a 100th of a degree in the enemy snipers scope, or a few centimeters on the soldiers body.
The point is: the soldier risked his life, was in action, was under enemy fire, and some of that fire hit him.
A soldier can go into a battle, thinking “today I am earning my Silver Star”, but no soldier goes into battle thinking: “Today I am earning my Purple Heart”
The idea of an “undeserved” lawfully awarded Purple Heart is stupid.
What a bunch of crap. The guy was a career Marine, 38 years. Are we supposed to believe that he would “ask” for a Purple Heart?
These people are nothing but scum, but I knew that when they went after Kerry in the same manner.
