Christmas Spirit

Sometimes I feel like I’m living through a really bad rerun of the Sixties:
A homeowners association in southwestern Colorado has threatened to fine a resident $25 a day until she removes a Christmas wreath with a peace sign that some say is an anti-Iraq war protest or a symbol of Satan.rnrnSome residents who have complained have children serving in Iraq, said Bob Kearns, president of the Loma Linda Homeowners Association in Pagosa Springs. He said some residents have also believed it was a symbol of Satan. Three or four residents complained, he said.

Well at least that’s better than a really bad rerun of the 70s.
I think.
Satan huh?
Any wonder why we have bubble boy in the top seat.
The relevant homeowners’ committee decided that
the wreath was OK, so the organization’s president
removed them from office.
Since the alleged complainants weren’t identified,
it sounds like this may be just be one highly-placed
wingnut’s crusade.
Peace bad, like Satan is bad so they are the same. See its easy when your under the mind/thumb of a bronze age mythic god who likes blood, and foreskins for some odd reason. I agree with you Johnfromjersey. I may live in Oregon but Gresham where I work in Crazy Christain world and some would go along with this. Remember about 40% of americans are waiting for the rapture or some form of end-time illness. Its a Pandemic. That just might get us all killed. What do you think?
The propper HOA-fu to use is to get the minutes of _all_ the board meetings (and any other records your state/locality require them to make available), determine if the board is authorizing some sort of selective enforcement, and, if so, threaten them with a civil harassment suit if it continues.
