My personal relationship with Susie started when I read a post where she described her frustration with Blogger. I sent her an email offering free hosting. I didn’t actually have server space or bandwidth available for her, but her frustration with blogger was a prime excuse for a geek like me to shell out some cash so he could play with the back end of a high traffic dynamic website. I never offered design, or any of the things that have happened since the transfer, but shit happens. I’m all about shit.
More than anything, I’m interested in giving interesting and talented liberal writers a platform that they are comfortable writing from. I’ve had others, but right now Suburban Guerrilla and Brendan Calling are the two active and well known political sites I provide hosting for. We all contribute however we can. I try to write a little, but I’m more comfortable with providing hosting and a little tech support.
I’m really upset right now because the people I pay to host the various websites I pay to host have let me down. I don’t much want to leave them, because I’ve been with them for six years and they have mostly been good to me. However, they have let me down repeatedly over the last several months and I’m at my wit’s end . I’m not sure what to do. Every single day the server crashes or becomes unavailable. Sometimes for hours. I will fix this. I’m not sure how, but I will. I’m open to suggestions.
