Protesters advocating impeachment of U.S. President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney carry a giant copy of the Constitution as they follow at the end of the 119th annual Rose Parade in Pasadena, California January 1, 2008.

I disagree. It is not merely a piece of paper - any more than the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Geneva Conventions, or the Declaration of Independence are pieces of paper. The Preamble to the Constitution is a Covenant with We the People that we the people have to enforce. As Thomas Jefferson wrote, a government gets its power to govern, not from god, but through the “consent of the governed.” The Giant Preamble that the Backbone Campaign created is to remind We the People of their role, the promise that was made, and the mission of creating “a more perfect union.”
Yes - Power to the People!

I wonder of the TV cameras showed the Impeach sign(s),
or cut away to something else.
