Interesting article about baby boomers and retirement. It never even occurred to me that I could retire at some point; it’s not a viable option. I just cross my fingers and hope my health holds out long enough that I can cover my own funeral expenses.

Susie - I know what you mean… Unless we someday get National one-payer health insurance, I picture myself like that 79 year-old guy in “Sicko”, working at a supermarket to pay for their health coverage.

I think the “cover my own funeral expenses” was just an offhanded remark, but Pennsylvania does have a “cremation society” that you can sign up with in advance and (I think) pay a small fee for coverage. My parents were participants and it apparently covered everything for my father’s death a few years ago, and undoubtedly will do so for my mother when the time comes.
