Didn’t get much sleep last night. Woke up with chills about 2 a.m. and tried to make myself get out of bed to take some ibuprofen - that only took about 45 minutes. (Just as a point of interest, I took my temperature - 103 degrees.) Then I fired up a heating pad to put on my back for the body aches.
At some point, I was actually hallucinating from the fever.
When I woke up this morning, everything in my bed was drenched - sheets, pillows, quilt, comforter. There’s even a big white mark on my antique wooden headboard where my oh-so-sweaty head was pushing against the varnish. Yuck.
I really, really hate being sick. (Not like those of you who just love it, of course.) It’s times like these that I wish I didn’t live alone and had someone to bitch to. (And someone to wait on me.)

Suggestion: put two Advil and a glass of water on the nightstand so you don’t have to get out of bed at 2:00 a.m. Also, keep the fluids going. With a fever like that and sweating you are going to be dangerously dehydrated. Water, juice, soft drinks, soup. Tea can be dehydrating, so it’s not great. Remember: fluids, fluids, fluids. Even if you are so sick you can only sip them.
I like your blog. It’s fair and you don’t bash HRC as a form of entertainment.
Sounds like it might be a case of blog withdrawal. Symptoms are much like the flu.
Remedy is take 2 aspirins & blog in the morning.
After all the accolades you’ve received — you’re not going to give it up, are you? I hope not.
P.S. I hope you feel better soon.
So sorry to hear this.
Hope you feel better soon.
Oh, Susie, it is miserable being sick by yourself. I deal with that too. I love living by myself, but when I’m as sick as you described I want someone to bring me my fluids, to put their hand on my forehead to see if I still have a fever, and to clean up after my night sweats. I hope you get to feeling better soon.
