And under ordinary circumstances, Obama would not give her the time of day. She is trashy, foul mouthed, and downright rude. She would not stand a chance in his world.

this whole thing is really kind of illuminating. i mean, rhodes talked trash about “the other side” (i.e. republicans) all the time prior to the race and no one really noticed, at least i didn’t. even though i’m an obama supporter, i am a lot more sympathetic to clinton than i am to republicans, so rhodes’ comments really come across as over-the-line for me.

it makes me wonder if i’ve been unfair to republicans. i mean, if a republican politician is an asshole about something then s/he deserve to be called on it. but it’s never a good idea to belittle their supporters. you don’t win an argument by calling the other side’s supporters stupid or “trash” or whatever.
