I recall my US Airways flight being held on the ground for 90 minutes at Philadelphia International due to lightning strikes. You should figure paying about $29-$39 for a good surge protector for your PC. Be sure to ask your network personage about it.
I used to have one, but they’re so big and bulky and I haven’t had the money to spare. If there’s going to be a storm, I unplug the computer completely.
