A new ethics handbook released by National Public Radio seems to indicate the network is reacting in a positive way to persistent criticism of its “he said, she said” approach to the news. Basically, French parents think children shouldn’t be treated as the center of the universe and that parents should teach them firm boundaries.

American kids are the center of their parent’s universe. They can be extremely disrespectful to adults. The best behaved kids around my neighborhood are the Hispanic kids. They are raised as part of the family – not the center of it.

Either way, if it proves out that the French are better at raising kids than the U.S., then I have to go with the French.
