Hard Times: Lost on Long Island

I remember predicting this when talking to one of my daughter-in-law’s affluent relatives the night before their wedding, back in October 2008. He was skeptical, made some comment that anyone who really wanted a job could always find one. “You’ll see,” I said.

I wonder if he watched this.

  1. Unfortunately, it’s been my experience that Long Islanders don’t reallly give a flying rip about anybody else, so I find it hard to be moved by this video.

  2. @ MK That divisive, they had it coming attitude is what makes democracy so impotent to deal with this pandemic. Does it really have to happen to you before you can develop empathy?
