Leftovers

I keep a Dutch oven full of gravy and throw the leftover turkey in there so I can heat it all up when I want a sandwich. What’s your favorite way of eating leftovers?

I puree everything in a commercial-grade blender — meat, fish, fowl, potatoes, raw and cooked veggies, soup, bread, rolls, butter, tofu, salad, pasta, gravy, cranberry sauce, chocolate cake, pumpkin pie, ice cream, slivered almonds, and a tablespoon of extra-virgin olive oil — then heat it all up in the microwave, say grace, and eat it with a spoon, straw, or chopsticks, depending on my mood and the time of day.

Open-face turkey sandwiches, until the mashed potatoes, gravy and stuffing are gone, then turkey burritos.

I also like to mix the turkey and gravy right in with the stuffing, which is Pennsylvania Dutch style.

Turkey Hoagie: Put a little mayo on a really good hoagie roll. Put some turkey in. Put in a little stuffing. Put in a little cranberry sauce. Cover with cole slaw. DEVOUR! (Capriottis sandwich shops does this but home-made are much better). I promise when you’ve made one of these, you will continue to make them every year!
