  1. “Targeted-killings” is a phrase right out of “1984.” These are targeted assassinations. Israel has been doing them for 50 years. Nobody has taken the Israelis before a court of justice. Or even brought them before the court of public opinion. Once the world allows one actor to repeatedly break the law, then there is no law. Except for the law of the jungle. Targeted assassinations should have been made illegal long ago.

    I’d posit that such killings have taken place in the US, elsewhere, as well, but without the high flying aspect of a drone attack — just wet work by CIA or hired assassins.

  3. We had a torture proscription once until someone commissioned a legal opinion from John Yoo and handed the execution off to Dick Cheney. It’s time for the US to submit to the jurisdiction of the international courts and hand over indicted war criminals.
