  1. What type of “label” is being advocated? I am surprised to see that the skim milk in my frig gets 100% of its carb content from added sugar. But that’s my fault. It’s been on the ingredient labels all along.

  2. I expect it is intended to be used for spoiled or bad tasting milk to cover up the taste, the way butter is salted to allow it to be handled more carelessly and get rancid. In the old days they called this “adulteration”.

  3. Milk naturally has sugar carbohydrates, but no external sweeteners of any kind, caloric or not, are added unless the milk is labeled to show that. And that’s usually in flavored milks, chocolate being the most common. And they are labeled.

That’s what stunned me about this request. What do the dairies hope to achieve?

On top of that, some people have allergic reactions or sensitivities to some of the artificial sweeteners. They need and have a right to know what’s added.

    Strange request.
