I noticed that in the Politico article the author was twice told to call the EPA, the entity with jurisdiction, but he just kept calling the USDA and saying “look at how bad the bureaucracy is!” That’s not to say that things couldn’t be improved at the USDA or that getting the runaround isn’t common, but no President should not be held accountable for knowing who to ask for every question posed.

This says more than it would seem, I think.
Obama might have asked an aide to note the question and get back to the farmer — and surely there’s a web site where the answer could have been posted.
The president did sound awfully sure USDA was the right place to ask…bending over backwards in fairness to the reporter.
