We’ve been getting a little more rain here after 8 years of drought. It’s bringing its own problems, in that there is a layer of dried-out hardpan down some feet trapping water in the surface layers. Trees are falling. Aquifers are still not being replenished. Spring-fed lakes are still way down, while rain-fed rivers are overflowing and eroding shorelines.
