Yep, Whitney got this shit going and it’s horrific. The entire music industry has modeled itself after the tastes of people who don’t actually like or listen to music. It’s all lifestyle marketing and people treat it like the soundtrack to their life. Having a Christina soundtrack says that you are a rich, cool diva whether you are or not. It’s very weird.
Mariah Carey is a tragedy. What a voice to waste on bubble gum pop.

Melisma is a legitimate vocal technique. That said, it should be left to grown folks like Aretha Franklin. The rest should leave it alone.
