One thing I’ll always hold against Ray, though, is that he never acknowledged his then-wife Rasa’s contributions to the Kinks–hers was the high harmony in most songs from the first album through to “Arthur”, heard in its most heartwrenching beauty on “Waterloo Sunset”. Just try to imagine that song without it.
