Thanks for the reply. I thought I was being cautious calling it a recession. According to the shrill one, it’s not just a recession, it’s already a depression.
Perhaps, given the fact that the neoliberals and the austerians are puposefully slowing down the economic recovery and harming millions to no other end but to make money for a few, we should call it an economic repression.
There is a tiny recovery, which technically means we’re out of recession. But the extended unemployment is what makes it a depression.
I remember reading the Harrington book years ago and it was like a punch in the stomach. It was definitely an influence on my thinking and feelings about the country and our politics. We could do so much to help pur own people but we lack the political will.
