The brands behind right-wing attack ads

The ambience at your average Waffle House might be generously described as “Southern culture on the skids.” No surprise that WF is on the list of corporate brands that help bankroll right-wing attack ads.

  1. Can’t even wipe your ass anymore without some rightwingers being in the middle of it.
At least this time they end up in a pile of shit.

  2. Dang, we can’t seem to get a break. And now Waffle House. It’s going to be tough giving up those hash browns with onions and cheese, but we all need to make sacrifices.

  3. Just back from New Balance’ Comments link. Thanks for the heads up Susie. Nice that every once in a while I can protest where it will be noticed. I buy all my running shoes from NB on-line. Or at least I used to: “Tell Mr. Davis that this long time customer unsubscribed today over corporate support for attack ads.”

  4. Equal time: I heard back from NB
“Thank you for contacting New Balance Consumer Support! Earlier this year, a private donation was made by our Chairman to a political action committee that is affiliated with Mitt Romney. First, let me be clear that this was a private donation and not a contribution from New Balance. We encourage civic engagement at all levels and will always respect the right of any of our associates to engage in the political process as they see fit. We typically do not comment on private political donations. We appreciate your opinion and hope you will reconsider New Balance in the future.” The CEO is not “any associate” and not to be concerned my action isn’t corporate either. Its just a lill ol’ private boycotty thing.
