But the rest of us are going to pay for it.
Not bitching, that’s what civilized people do. They take care of each other. Sure would be nice if the 1% felt the same way, though.

We as a species are looking our demise in the face. This past springs torando bombardment, summers withering drought (extreme in temperature but the drastic lack of rain is going on decades) and now we have the fall storm season excellerating into who knows what kind of winter this year, and we begin to get the idea (for those who haven’t been paying attention to all the other ecological and meteorological signs) that something is happening and that, what do you know, it’s because of the way we live – specifically our use of fossil fuels, putting all the carbon back into the atmosphere that it took millions of years to generate!
Well, it’s a little late now that the other feedback systems that accelerate and add to the problem have kicked in. It’s so evident that we can’t change our innate “bad behavior” (procreation, destruction of the biosphere, depletion of resources, …) whether it’s because we’re lazy, stupid, pride-filled, ignorant, stubborn, in denial, or a death wish of some kind, we’re at the point where, even if we could stop right now, we’d be looking at worse and worse conditions for thousands of years. We blew it.
Enjoy your remaining time (estimated by some as a maybe a decade, others say 20 – 30 years, tops, and a few say we’re about to go off the cliff this year).
CONTINUED……The “Great Depression of 1929” was caused by the reckless financial speculation of the Capitalists (1%). It gave rise to a massive and vibrant union movement which forced the government to regulate how the Capitalists (1%) did bisiness. For 50 years the labor unions and those financial regulations kept the Capitalists (1%) at bay and allowed a middle class to develope. Then came Reagan (PATCO) and Clinton (NAFTA, repeal of Glass-Steagall). The union movement was decimated and the financial regulations were done away with. What followed was unrestrained Capitalist (1%) speculation (derivatives) and the “Great Recession of 2008.” None of the recessions and depression that we’ve talked about(?) were caused by some phoney “normal business cycle” or the actions of the 99%. They were all a result of the unregulated greed of the Capitalist 1%. Egged on by scumbag presidents.
