What a strange rabbit hole we are in. Our best hope against this deal is the obdurate insistence of the Tea Party right that it must be all cuts to social programs, no cuts to defense and no revenue.
Yup. But they’ve been our best hopes for restraining Obama’s desire/need to cut SS/Medicare a few times during his administrations.
But Obama keeps setting up situations where he lets himself be “forced” to make the regrettable but necessary cuts to the social safety net programs.
He’s so damn obvious about it, too!!
