There is a story that is not widely reported. Elderly suicides. Because people are not permitted to choose to die, many elderly commit suicide, often in painful ways. Sometimes a spouse of fifty or more years takes his or her spouse’s life, then his or her own because living without their mate of so many decades is unthinkable, let alone living life out in prison at the age of 80 or so. It is far more common than people know and many who read the story of the “murder-suicide” have no idea what really happened, though family and friends do and understand completely. Euthanasia is something a civilized nation would provide, but the US is not civilized. It is packed with religious crazies. Without the presence of religious insanity, this nation would have rational laws and could serve its people.
