I first saw Cape Breton fiddler Natalie McMaster when she was just a teenager. She was performing for the first time at the Philly Folk Festival; she was stepdancing as she fiddled, leaping far into the air. The crowd danced, too, and gave her a huge ovation. I’ve loved her ever since:
