Something’s coming

250 million protests worldwide, from 1979-2013, visualized in one time-lapse image

Truly powerful:

Penn State doctoral candidate John Beieler has created a time-lapse visualization of every protest on the planet since 1979. And it is jaw-dropping, and I mean that in a real way, not in a BS blogger-overhyping-this-incredible-amazing-thing way. No, this is truly amazing, because what you’ll see is tiny blips popping off here and there in the 1970s—a time we think of as highly politically charged—and nearly eclipsing the world starting with the late 90s anti-globalization protests and the second Iraq War up till our present moment.

  1. Yet nothing changes……..for the better…..it only gets worse. Now we have the mouse that roared Part II. Or how blowing up a baby milk factory as Bill Clinton did shows just how unsalvageable the 1% is. What will Obama bomb in Syria, a condom factory. Israel, Saudi Arabia, the U.S. and a few others want the civil war in Syria to end. And they want Assad to remain in power. You do that by breaking the will of the rebel army. So…..no heavy weapns for you rebel army (a very good thing)….and when we bomb something the target will be meaningless (a joke). The event will look to the dummies like the “U.S. is doing something,” when it’s really actually doing nothing. Three additional points on this topic. 1. Egypt is inching closer to civil war. 2. Lebanon is already in civil war. 3. The Palestinian’s have called off the peace talks with Israel. (Why it took them so long to do that given Israel’s actions lately is an open question.) When are we going to stop running Israel’s foreign policy for them and start pursuing our own foreign policy? You know…. what’s best for us. Maybe we should ask some American Zionists and AIPAC members like Rep. Peter King and Eliot Engel?

  2. This clip can be misleading.
According to it, the epicenter of protest in the US (and perhaps even the world) is in east-central Kansas, home of Wichita’s right-wing hate-spewing Westboro Baptist Church. That particular dot is constantly lit from the beginning of the time period to the end. I suppose it represents both protests and counter-protests.
