E.J. Dionne on Meet the Press:
“A lot of times, though, when people say the president should lead, what they want him to do is adopt Republican positions and then push for those,” Dionne explained. “That’s not leadership, that’s capitulation.”
And yet, he keeps doing it! I’m so confused…
Yesterday Hillary in a presidential campaign speech (are the authorities keeping track of these?) said that rather than using scorched-earth tactics Washington politicians should find “common ground.” “Common ground?” Isn’t that where the Democrats “capitulate” to the Republicans? Which would be just fine with Hillary insonmuch as she’s a Republican anyway.
