There’s a shocker: a large corporation taking credit for the good heartedness of it’s customers. The cashier at the local chain market is trained to ask if I want to give my change to charity. I already pay for their advertising in their prices: I’d rather give the change to the guy on the corner.
Peter VE: Stone on! I never donate in a way that can be claimed by business. Those food bags in grocery stores, pet food bins in pet stores, Toys for Tots are all a racket in which the merchant garners full mark up for your well intended gift. Never, ever, ever!
I’m surprised that McD’s isn’t making the pay royalties for use of the logo. I wonder what kind of tax credits they get on what customers pay in??
I think they did cough up a large sum to start the original Ronald McDonald House, which is here in Philadelphia. But come on! Can’t they spare a little more?
