    Since when have we ever treated anything as a precious resource? Telling us as a species that ‘we found more resources’ is like telling an alcoholic that we found a few more cases of bourbon, but to use it sparingly.

    One of the huge problems we have in agriculture now is how we are blowing through the aquifers we do have. We are drawing them down hundreds of times faster than they can be replenished.

    How on Earth would we avoid doing the same thing to these under the sea aquifers? Can’t we leave something, other than a desolate and ruined planet, as a legacy?
