  1. I was into meditation back in college and grad school and it did work to a great extent. Not for anything metaphysical, but more a self-control exercise. Kinda like working out, except you were relaxed and calm after. For me, after physical exercise was was best. As my body slowed down naturally, I’d use the bio-feedback to recognize what emptying oneself, becoming calm and relaxed feels like. It took some mad discipline, mostly discipline to devote the time to do it.
