Phillip Seymour Hoffman, 46. Maybe the best actor I’ve ever seen. Never a bad performance, and he frequently outshone the material. An addict who’d been clean for 20 years, he was in rehab again last year. Police found him with a needle in his arm.

Sorry to hear that. I enjoyed his work a lot. What did Churchill call it? The Black Dog.
I have to admit that I have become so out of it and disconnected from popular culture that I have no idea of who this man was, and I only vaguely remember having seen him before somewhere. Is that good or bad?
The best actor I have ever seen was Lionel Barrymore.
The best actor I’ve ever seen was Chris Christie.
Besides the loss of a great actor, this story has to scare every alcoholic/addict. Dry for 20 years, then relapse and death. It’s a terrible disease.
