Are college degrees useless now?

My son told me the other day he’d encourage any children he has to go to trade school. I suspect a lot of people feel like him:

  1. If a college degree takes a person down the road to debt slavery, then yes, the degree is worse than useless.

    If a degree is obtained from any institution that identifies itself as part of the “education industry”, as the opening sentence of the article puts it, then yes, the degree is useless.

    Considering the statement “… Although it’s undeniable that higher education and advanced technical skills are correlated with higher salaries…” – that was true once upon a time.

    As time passes, it will only remain true for children of the 1%.

    However, a degree from Regent University can get a person pretty far in certain circles.
