I got banned from the WSJ comments “community” for commenting on this– Charles Koch’s whine about freedom, and how everybody’s picking on him.

Ironic, don’t ya think?

I’m sure I’ve mentioned it before, but in case you missed it: The Kochs are Birchers. (Their father was one of the founders of the John Birch Society, and made his fortune selling oil to the Nazis.) They are the farthest thing from patriots as you can get.

  1. Congratulations. Birchers, fascists, motherfuckers. See Krugman’s blog for a more nuanced take.

  2. Poor man, I hardly know what to say for the poor downtrodden billionaire . . . I don’t suppose you were as ‘un-nuanced’ as I might be, who could have known that the WSJ would be so thin-skinned.

  3. I never heard of the Nazi connection. I thought their fortune was only from building oil refineries for the Commies. In Stalin’s time. Which is even more ironic, though their father claimed it was seeing Stalin in action that made him so anti-communist. But I suspect he was sure to cash the last check from the Kremlin before he proclaimed that.
