  1. “Heat index” for those in the know. Here’s a question about “dry heat.” Is it hotter in Las Vegas when the temperature is 106 and the humidity is 20% or in Miami when the temperature is 95 and the humidity is 80%? Dry heat isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be. Especially when the salt in your body begins to crystalize on your skin as you sweat.

  2. Back in the day, when I lived in NYC, it was called the THI — the temperature-humidity index.
    Now that I’ve been living on the west coast for nearly 50 years, I don’t worry about that kind of stuff unless I’m traveling.
