Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani education campaigner shot by the Taliban, has donated $50,000 (nearly £31,000) towards the reconstruction of schools in Gaza.
The Nobel peace prize winner, speaking after receiving the World Children’s Prize for the rights of the child in Marienfred, Sweden, on Wednesday, said the money would be channelled through the United Nations relief agency UNRWA to help rebuild 65 schools in the Palestinian territory.
Malala, who now lives in the UK and has her own fund to help small-scale organisations in a number of countries, including Pakistan, told journalists that children in Gaza had suffered from conflicts and war. The money would help children get “quality education” and continue their life, knowing they were not alone and that people were supporting them, she said.
She is the first person to receive the children’s prize and the Nobel in the same year. The Sweden-based organisers of the children’s prize said millions of children around the world had voted for Malala.

OK. Money to Gaza is good. But a statement condemning Netanyahu as well would have been better. Why is Netanyahu a “chicken-shit?” (1) He talks big, but carries a limp dick. For decades Netanyahu has been threatening Iran with war. But Netanyahu really doesn’t want a war. What he wants is a perpetual enemy that he can exploit for domestic political purposes. (2) Netanyahu only attacks people he knows he can easily defeat. Pounding Gaza into rubble was a “chicken-shit” move. (3) Netanyahu wants the US to fight all of its battles for him. With military force (Iran, etc.), or by defending every Israeli action whether it’s legal or not, or by just keeping quiet. Chicken-shit. Chicken-shit. Chicken-shit.
What I’m in awe of with Malala, even more than having the bravery to stand for girls in Pakistan when nobody knew her, even more than her calm attitude after recovering from her wounds, even more than her continuous and steady humility through all of what’s been happening (which is *amazing*), is that such a young person can be so poised! How does she do that? Where did she learn it? And never once having a sharp word through all the media BS she puts up with. :just boggled:
Amazing, beautiful soul
