It’s catchy and I can dance to it. Duh.
Besides, most lyrics are hard to understand. e.g. in a godda davita. Even the more clearly sung ones are only about 90% intelligible, and then when they get fancy with sentence structure, or slang idioms, or if the singing stress/emphasis on words is not the same as if spoken, you might understand every word but not understand what they are singing about. I hardly ever pay much attention to the lyrics because it is almost never worth the effort to decipher. I was shocked when I heard that catchy song by Robin Thicke was about date rape. I have no idea what most of Beyonce’s songs mean (I get a general gist that might or might not be correct, but that is all).
