A giant corporation indicted? Wow

Freedom Industries Site Demolished

We don’t see this happen too often, we should pay attention:

CHARLESTON, WV –Four owners and managers of Freedom Industries have been indicted and charged with federal violations of the Clean Water Act for failing to operate the company in an environmentally sound manner, resulting in the chemical leak that contaminated the drinking water of 300,000 people in January.

Dennis P. Farrell, William E. Tis, Charles E. Herzing and Gary L. Southern are each charged with three counts of violating the Clean Water Act.

Each man is charged with failing to meet a “reasonable standard of care” in running the company.

“Their negligence resulted in and caused the discharge of a pollutant, that is, MCHM, from point sources into the Elk River,” according to the indictment, unsealed today by U.S. Magistrate Judge Dwane L. Tinsley.

  1. There are millions of registered corporations in America and four guys in one of then get indicted. Wow, don’t we all fell so much better now?
Why do people believe that Capitalism equals Democracy and Democracy equals Capitalism? One system does not rely on the other for its survival. As a matter of fact too much Capitalism will destroy democracy as we have seen with the Citizens United ruling.
Simply because “the people” decide legally using taxation to strip the top 10% of most of its wealth does not mean that “the people” are wrong and anti-democratic.
What is wrong and anti-democratic is for the wealthy to buy every politician in sight in order to monopolize the legislative process.
The Capitalist economic system is now killing our democracy.
Castro understood that Capitalism had killed Cuba’s democracy. He would have breathed new life into it had the US allowed him to do so. But American Capitalists using the CIA spent years trying to kill him and the People’s Revolution.
