I know you’re not supposed to speak ill of the dead… but I’m 65 so I was the right age to get pissed off about “Okie from Muskogee”. I haven’t had a kind work for him since and I’m not about to change my opinion now.
P.S. Merle was way too old to have to worry about the draft so it was easy for him to throw stones and draft resisters. Not that I was one of them, I joined the Navy in ’69. But I wasn’t about to criticize anyone who protested the unfair nature of the draft and the pointless waste that was the Viet Nam War.
