All the niceties are dead. The treatment of Garland betrays that confirmation is a nakedly political process. The Democrats damn well better play by the new rules or they surrender the Court to regression forever. Gorsuch has to be filibustered. I’d never take that bet because you are surely correct. But don’t run one of these ideological whores for President or Trump gets re-elected and I vote third party. Turning the Supreme Court back a century is not something I will ignore.
