There was a CarTalk song that said this more clearly years ago. The gist being the couple fell apart, and the guy is talking about how he fixed her car but “I guess I didn’t say that I love you right.”
Expressions of actual affection — rather than counters to accumulate in exchange for a cookie — are going to be tailored to what the recipient wants. Just because some people are men doesn’t give them a free pass to be emotional nitwits.
You’d think a communications specialist would know that.
It may be a reluctance on the part of men who fear that they may be infecting their sons with “gayness” by being too touchy feely.
Trojan society took this concept, and fear, to the extreme.
