Boy, can I relate!

  1. The comments are better than the article. I don’t use Amazon. Or Paypal. Or Whole Foods. etc. My little, pathetic, impotent protest against the corporate giants who, through control of the gov’t, and predatory business practices, are leading us to a dystopic fascism, and deliberately driving small, local, independent merchants and businesses out. Also have stopped donating to Dem politicians who are corporate/MIC sellouts and support this travesty. That’s most of them, especially the leadership. Now I support issue/action oriented NGO groups. You have to be careful of the “veal pen,” though. NGOs, non-profits who fudge on their mission to get access to money/power, and of course the proverbial beltway cocktail parties. Fine line. (See, e.g. Planned Parenthood’s support of Gurney Joe Lieberman’s independent Senate campaign after he lost the Connecticut primary)

I am fortunate to be pretty healthy at an age where I can remember dial phones, rabbit ears on the teevee, Eisenhower vs Stevenson, docs who actually talked to you Walter Cronkite. So shopping for tools at the local hardware is not a hardship. But I wouldn’t even know where to look for a locally owned pharmacy or shoe store. Marx was so right. OK, not about everything. But about the big fish eating the small fish, repeat, repeat. And the reserve army of the unemployed, (see Fed’s cockeyed balancing of full employment vs inflation.)

I can hardly wait for Elon to send out his magic box to allow all those Tesla owners to catch a few extra Zs on the way to work. Progress is our most important product?

Getoffa my lawn or I’ll call the…. No, wait, maybe not.
