She wants to get chemo because they say it will help with the pain and possibly give her a few more months with her daughter, but they can’t afford the security deposit for a place to stay while she’s treated — and they won’t treat her without a stable place to live. There are a lot of programs out there to help people with cancer, but none of them will help someone without a permanent address.
My mom has stage 4 Colorectal cancer and has both internal and external tumors. She has had radiation and needs chemotherapy and would need to get it every two weeks or it could do more harm then good. We need some kind of permanent or semi-permanent housing to make sure she doesn’t miss an appointment.
