There’s a conversation to be had

  1. President Ronald Wilson Reagan (1981-1989) was the root of all evil.
“Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall.” June 12, 1987.

    More to follow.

  2. Reagan’s push for globalization kicked into high gear with the signing of CAFTA in 1988.
After the signing of CAFTA the public was subjected to many, many speeches about the wonderfulnesss of “free trade zones,” a place where tariffs need not apply (a fantasy).
During the Reagan administration the military budget exploded and continues apace after all these years.

The ‘prophet’ George H. W. Bush said on March 6, 1991, that “Now we can see a new world (order) coming into view.”
6 months later the USSR began to collapse and was declared dead on December 31, 1991. Hmmmmm

The Soviet corpse was allowed to grow cold for 8 years before NATO began to expand into the old Warsaw Pact countries adding the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary to the organization in 1999 at the request of Bill Clinton. That move unnerved the Russians.

In 2004 George the Second saw to it that 7 mostly ex-Warsaw Pact countries joined NATO—-Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.
That move set US-Russian relations back 20 years.

In 1994 Bill Clinton signed NAFTA into law and signaled the era of globalization and “small government.”
Clinton’s neo-liberalism crushed the US manufacturing sector and the labor unions.

Since the dawning of “liberal democracy” after the death of FDR the US has spent 70% of its time and resources engaged in war.
We have spent 50 of the last 72 years fighting wars—–Korea-4 yrs., Vietnam-16 yrs., Iraq/Saddam-1 yr., Afghanistan-20 yrs., and Iraq II-8 yrs.

All of this neo-liberalism and warmongering has led to the destruction of Ukraine, and maybe even WWIII.
    Something’s gotta change and pronto.
